When will you be mine?: Chapter2

I wanted to post this chapter ages ago, but I got really sick during the past few weeks. Also, I was going through so much stuff on other levels that no one would imagine.

Like I said before this is a 100% true story so I hope you guys get excited for this story. I want to set certain days, but I can't because I seriously need to work harder on my grades&school. Thanks<3

ENJOY

Ps,

Don't forget that the start of this story happened in 2008 (6 years ago) so a lot of things changed.

-

I changed the arm that was holding the shopping bags because it was starting to get painful. I sat on the nearest stool in the shop, and let out a loud "offfh." I've been cranky for the past 3 days, and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with a dark eyed model-like 19 year old. I haven't seen him in 3 days, and that managed to make me feel so angry, frustrated, and sad all at once.

Mom: Basma! Esh feki ya mama! Malik 5lg you shop, w bes sakta! Mo 3waydk. Fe a7d m9'aygk?

I felt sorry for my mom, she was the one who had to deal with my moodiness. I wish my sisters were here, then she could've went out with them.

Basma: it's ok mama, 5ala9. I'm sorry mama adri wallaa eni anrfz w akeed tgolen ya leet Sara aw Fara7 ma3na.

Maybe if my sisters were here, my mom would have more fun. The summer I meet a guy and lose all sense of being logical, one sister decides to be 8 months along pregnant and the other has a 1 month old baby girl, just my luck.

Mom: laa ya mama, la tgolen kitha. Leeh ma tro7in elbeet enti? Shklik t3bana w malik 5lg.

I sighed, again. And nodded. I really did want to go back to the hotel, I was tired and stressed. I knew my mom was too, but she was good at hiding it. We haven't had an easy couple of months, but they promise it gets better.

I was lost in my thoughts while walking back to the hotel, the sun glaring on me through the clouds. I tripped on the unbalanced pavement and almost hit the floor face down when a strong pair of arms held me by my elbows.

Basma: sorry, I wasn't looking where-

And then my mind decided to stop working, and my mouth was wide open. Why does that always happen to me?

Aziz: hi?

He gave me a half smile, and for the life of me I couldn't form an understandable response. I don't know why, but I always seem to forget that I have a tongue that can be used around him. I blushed when I realised that he was waiting for a response. I  looked down at the pavement from embarrassment and I felt his fingers under my chin.

Aziz: look at me, you don't have to be embarrassed or shy.

He gave me a smile that melted my heart, how does he always do this? He doesn't need to do much to unleesh a zoo in my stomach.

Basma: urmm sorry bes I have 2 left feet! W I keep falling when I'm around you. Tra I'm not a klutz 6ool elwgt bes around you mdri shlon akon-

My jaw fell when I realized he put his hand on my mouth to shut me up. I blushed deep red till the tips of my toes.

Aziz: ok ok stop babbling and let me walk you to the hotel.

I looked down at my feet in embarrassment and acted as if I was playing with my nails.

Basma: mala da3i.. it's ok.. I-i-i.
Aziz: ok, let's walk and wait on the talking shwy. Eish rayik?

I gave him a small smile that barely matched his. I am getting waaay too comfortable with him around. When we got to the hotel I wished that it would by some miracle be further away. I knew that I was thinking this way because I was wishing I had a little more time with him. We stopped at the hotel's door and he gave me a half smile.

Basma: sooo..
Aziz: bro7 ana al7in, if you need anything you'll know where to find me.

~

I threw my pen at the empty paper. I'm getting writer's block and I know it's because of my current state of depression. I should go take a walk; I need to let it out, but I can't.

I took my jacket from the back of the chair, and opened the connecting door between my room&my parents' room.

Basma: baba! B6l3 atmsha w arj3 bsr3a.
Dad: elbsy ur jacket ya mama la tmr9'en.

I gave him a quick kiss on the forehead and as I walked away I heard his usual cough that broke my heart. Tears threatened to spill, but I held them back. When I stepped out of the hotel I got hit by cold air that gave me goosebumps.

I stopped by the nearest starbucks to get myself something to keep me warm. I sat on a bench staring at all kinds of people walking by. Business men talking non stop on their phones, in love couples holding hands, families with little children running around. I feel someone sitting next to me but I don't pay it a lot of attention. The minute I heard his voice, I stopped myself from turning to see him.

Aziz: ana t3bt shwy, fa mar7 ajekm. Ento i6l3o t3sho, don't wait around for me.. yalla m3 elslama 7bebe.. ok abd wla yhmik.

I pretended like I didn't hear him, ygalkm al7in ana elthgl. I let my fingers circle the top of my paper cup, and continued staring at the people passing by while waiting calmly for him to start talking.

Aziz: Do you want to talk?

I smiled at nothing; I knew he would start. He always does. He should get some credit though, it only took him 25 minutes to start talking; I honestly thought he would take less time.

Basma: why would you think ena I want to talk?
Aziz: hmm, jalsa l7alk, m3ak gahwa. Large if I may add too. Mdri 9ra7a shklk ygol I want to talk.

I let out a long deep breath, I don't think it would be good to lay all my crap on him. So, I shook my head softly.

Basma: I don't want to talk, yet.
Aziz: yet? Zeen y3ny I have hope.

I stuck my tongue out at him in playful way to let the situation lose a bit of its tense-ness. Suddenly, I felt his fingers grip my tongue, and my eyes widened.

Aziz: gltlik lw mdteh mrra thanya bswy shy mar7 y3jbk!

When he took his fingers away, I starred at him shocked more than ever.

Basma: 9A7Y ENT?

He laughed loudly at my reaction.

Aziz: elmarra ely b3daha I'll cut it off.

Then he winked and my heart did that stutter dance. I looked at him still shocked, and then I laughed lightly. When I stopped after a while, I let out a loud deep sigh.

Basma: my dad is sick.

I stopped talking for a while waiting for a response from him, but I didn't get any. I looked back at him. He did a thing with his hand where he was basically telling me to go on.

Basma: like really sick. Brain tumour sick. W ma ndri how much longer does he have, and it's sucking the energy out of mama. Ely she looks old now, she never looked old. My sisters, are constantly worrying which is not good for their babies. And my brother.. My brother is a whole different story.

I didn't even realize I was crying until I saw his hand with a couple of tissues hovering above my lap. I took the tissues and wiped my tears, and then blew my nose while making the most unattractive sound I'm sure he's ever heard.

Basma: w aswa2 shy blmw9'o3 kla? No one is telling me anything! Bl9'ab6 ma k2ni bnt'hm. Adri eni a93'r w7da bes mo lhdraja bzr ana ma afhm! Walla at7ml! Ma7b ena they keep babying me. B3den there's this fact eno my siblings keep fighting w ha4a elmw9'o3 jals yt3b omi zyada.

I stopped talking after I let it all out.

Basma: I'm so sorry, 6l3t klshy 3lek. Now, I'm pretty sure I have a red swollen nose and eyes to match with it. Ble5 I must look like sh*t.
Aziz: Shaklhm ma galolk ena I like red noses, they're kind of my thing.

I laughed at his lame attempt to make me feel better, and he gave me his million mega-watt smile.

Aziz: likk 7ag tz3l thum lik 7ag nra9'eek! Yallaa 3aaad ebtsmi! Wallaaa 7lwaa bes elebtisama a7la.

I blushed deep red, and looked down while laughing.

Aziz: ee kitha! Ma b3'aiina!

I looked back at him and saw that he was giving me that heart stopping smile. Walla w  swaha glbi w 7bik w ana 3n el7ob naheh.

Basma: urmm.. I better get going, my parents would be waiting.

I got up and tightened my bag's strap on my shoulder.

Basma: thank you for listening, and for the tissues.

I gave him a half smile, and started walking to the hotel. I heard him calling out my name.

Basma: ewa?
Aziz: I'm always here to listen to you. Always.

When will you be mine?: Chapter1

Here's the first chapter ;)<3

-

I curled the last lock of hair I had in my hand to perfection. For the first time in forever, I actually care about the way I looked, and I knew it had something to do with a certain guy that I always catch looking at me. The connecting door between my room and my parents' room was opened by my mom. I lifted my eyebrow as if to say 'what?'

Mom: Basma, bt6l3en?
Basma: ee, mama.
Mom: bes ya mama ma k2n elwgt t25r shwy 3la il6l3a l7alk?

I looked down at my watch and saw that it said 10:58 PM. It was a little later than usual for me to be out by myself with my friends, but I had to go. I needed to see him. I shook my head to clear up my mind a bit, and smiled at my mom.

Basma: laa, mama! 3adi! A9ln b6l3 m3 3lia.
Mom: w 3lia ha4i btkon l7alha?
Basma: la2, omha w 5alt'a bykonon fe!
Mom: aha, ok. La tt25ren mra! Mar7 anam ela lma trj3en.
Basma: enshallah ya a7la om! A7bikk!

I left the room, and gave my mom a kiss on her forehead. My smile was painted widely on my face, and I couldn't stop it no matter what. I've never felt this way before, and it scares and excites me at the same time.

~

I had a lot of fun with Alia, catching up with old friends is always a blast. Now, I was walking down the street to go back to the hotel. It was chilly, and a bit wet; a typical kind of weather for Paris. I had said my goodbyes to Alia, because even though we stayed at the same hotel it was getting a bit late and I knew mom was waiting for me. I thought that since I'm near the hotel I'd walk to it, instead of getting a taxi. I'm kind of regretting that choice right now because I'm so scared.

"S'il vous plaît me de l'argent!" (Please give me money)

"Vous êstes si jolie!" (You're very beautiful)

A lot of drunk french men were slurring, and goosebumps appeared all over my limbs. I didn't think the hotel was that far from the cafè we were sitting in. I tried to walk faster, but my steps were too small to make me go any faster than I was. I was thinking of other ways to go to the hotel, because I was going to pass by a group of 5aleeji guys. That fact scared me more than anything, even though I felt a lot safer now that I know there some 5aleejis here other than the drunks.

"Basma!"

I turned around at the mention of my name. Who was that? Deep down I knew it was him though. I couldn't go wrong; not with the shiver that ran down my spine every time I heard his voice.

Basma: uhhh.. hala!
Aziz: ana 3ziz, a5o 3lia. T4krteni?
Basma: ee, 3bdul3ziz. Akeed t4krtik.

I was getting a bit uncomfortable since we were having this conversation so publicly, and in front of a group of 5aleeji guys who I am assuming are his friends. I snapped out of my thoughts when I saw Abdulaziz waving a hand in front of my face.

Basma: sorry! Esh kint tgol?
Aziz: agol leeh tmshen l7alik?
Basma: kint m3 3lia, bes lazm arj3 elhotel 3shan mama tnt9'rni w glt eno madam elhotel greb mala da3i a5i4 taxi w amshi a7sn bes 6l3 mrra y5wf fa mdri. Bes grbt al7in!

My heart did this thing where it stopped beating then started beating too fast when I heard his laugh. It was a deep, very muscular laugh and it set a thousand of butterflies free in my stomach. A blush tinted my cheeks when I realised he was laughing at me.

Basma: ana bmshii..
Aziz: NO! Basma, ent9'ri bw9lk.

I blushed harder at his very fast reaction; I was very flattered to say the least. I shook my head at him, and turned on my heels. I think it's better if I leave now, so people won't get the wrong idea.

Aziz: Basma! E9bri, please. Mo lazm amshi m3k, wrak 3adi. Ahm shy 3ndi, enik to9alen elhotel besalama. 3shan glbi yt6mn.

I didn't think it was possible to blush any harder, but it was. I nodded weakly, because: A- I was scared sh*tless B- He was too cute for me to say no. During the walk he was very quiet that I almost forgot that he was behind me if it wasn't for his light breathing. In a strange way, his breathing pattern calmed me. I decided that I wasn't going to waste a perfectly great chance for me to get to know him because I was shy.

Basma: soo..
Aziz: yeah?
Basma: let's play a game?

I said with a weak smile. Worst conversation starter, ever! He laughed and my heart did that stupid stutter it did; I could barely focus on what was he saying or doing because a whole zoo was being set free in my stomach. I don't think this is a normal crush.

Aziz: ok! Yalla, wsh 3ndik l3ba?
Basma: hmm… 21 questions?
Aziz: 6yb! Bes ana abda.
Basma: okk!
Aziz: fe shy mmno3 as2al 3na?
Basma: ee! Wzni, w…

I thought about it for a few seconds longer.

Basma: w drajati!

And then again, he laughes. 56ar eni amot mn war hlwld w his laugh.

Aziz: nbda basic questions 6yb, question number one favourite colour?
Basma: grey!
Aziz: leh?
Basma: 3shana blws6 w 5air elomor aws6ha!

I even winked for emphasis. What on earth was I doing?! Am I flirting with him? I felt like face palming myself but he'd think I'm a lunatic.

Aziz: yalla, basma dorik!
Basma: question number one isssss…

I stretched out the S for suspense, and because I had no clue what to ask him.

Basma: favourite hair colour?

He answered without second thought.

Aziz: black, not any black. No, dark black that looks like white or silver under the light.

I automatically turned a deep red from embarrassment, because he was looking my way all the time.

Aziz: dori yalla, question number 2: favourite book and why?
Basma: tso2 tso2 tso2, so2aleen bWa7d?
Aziz: nop! So2al wa7d ha4a.

I stuck out my tongue in annoyance at him, and he let out a small laugh. None the less, it made my heart do that stuttering dance it does.

Aziz: entbhi, lw mdeteh mrra thanya bswi shy mar7 y3jbk.

And this time he gave me a wink, and my heart did a back flip. I looked at my nails to avoid being more embarrassed by him.

Basma: all the books I read are my favourite, because I take a little piece of every book with me whenever I finish it.

He was quiet for a while after my answer, and I realised he was staring at me. I gave him a weak half smile, and my blush deepened. We reached the hotel in no time, and I was sad in a way. I actually wanted to stay with him for a little bit more, but I couldn't. I turned around to say bye, and saw that he was looking down at his shoes with his hand in his pockets.

Basma: soo.. bye?
Aziz: bye! Text 3lia or something when you get inside the room.
Basma: ok enshallah.

I gave him a small wave, and turned around to get into the hotel.

Aziz: oh w Basma?
Basma: ewa?
Aziz: bageli 19 so2al for next time.

Then he winked, AGAIN! I'm starting to like the little back flips, and stutter dances my heart does whenever he's around.

-

They say that the emotion that breaks your heart is sometimes the very one that can heal it. My name is Basma and I opened my heart enough to love without restraint. I am here to tell you my story and it all started that summer day in 2008 during the festival in Montreux..

"Psst! Lama, jals y6al3 wila la2?" I whispered to my friend, Lama. I tried to look as if I wasn't really paying attention to the model who was shamelessly staring at me. In an attempt to look like I don't care, I ran my fingers through my chopped off black waves.

Lama: i4a g9dk eljamel eli jals m3 a97aba bl6awla eli gdamna, then yes!

A mix of emotions ran through me; it's the 4th day in a row that I've caught him staring at me. I don't know how to feel about that, but my 16 year old body was going crazy with excitement. He was a very good looking guy, probably much older than I am but he was looking at me! I was a thousand miles away when I felt something cold being dropped on me, and my clothes getting soaked. I let out a scream and started chasing after my friend.

Basma: LAMA! Ya 7mara!

We started running around each other and after a while we got tired and sat on the ground. My breath was coming out in short and fast takes, and I was avoiding looking at my friend. I knew that if I looked back at her I would start laughing.

~

I put the last item of clothing left on my bed in my bag. Today, we were leaving Montreux and heading to Paris. I usually would be excited about that, but I can't stop thinking about my stranger. It sounds weird, but I feel strangely connected to him. It's either that or my hormones are going crazy, because he's good-looking and I keep catching him stare at me.

Mama: Basma! La ttn7en ya mama. Yalla, 6yartna b3d shwy!
Basma: enshallah, mama.

~

In the plane, I had to sit alone next to a girl my age while my parents sat next to each other. I was angry at first, and then I realised she looked familiar.

Basma: hi?
Girl: ahleen, Basma 9a7?!
Basma: ee urmm asfaa.. bes nset esmk!
Girl: ana 3lia elflani! Knt m3k blmdrsa bes n8lt.
Basma: 3lia elflani! Yrabi mrra mnzman 3nik. Keefik? W keef elmdrsa eljdeda?
Alia: el7amdelilah wallah! it's not bad, bes 8rrt arj3 llmdrsa 3shan ma erta7t fe ha4ek mrra.
Basma: oh!

And we spent a while catching up and talking about random things. A tall broad figure shadowed over us, and I looked up. My jaw dropped, what were the chances that he was on the same plane I was on? During my haziness I missed what 3lia was saying to him. So I turned back at her and gave her the 'do you know him?' look.

Alia: Basma, ha4a o5oy 3bdul3ziz. 3ziz, ha4i 9degti Basma.

That was when it all started..

Unexpected: Chapter 18 (FINALE)

The last chapter</3.

Enjoy!

-
I was cooing at  Maha's 6 months along baby-bump.

Anoud: you're such a cute pregnant person ma9adg!!! I can't believe it! Reemo is only what 3? And you're already pregnant again. Unfair!

She laughed at my reaction, and kept rubbing her stomach.

Maha: agolik jebi a kid ma tsm3en elklam.

I gave her a look.

Anoud: you do realize it takes two people to make a baby?
Maha: I'm pretty sure my brother doesn't mind, at all.

Faisal and Turki came into the living room and they were talking excitedly about something; must be soccer related. Faisal immediately took Maha's hand and kissed her forehead, while Turki pressed a kiss to the back of my head. I blushed, as usual.

Anoud: hi.
Turki: hala 7bebti, hi barney.

I laughed at Turki's way of frustrating Maha. Maha gave me a look, so I bit my lips to stop myself from laughing.

Turki's P.O.V:

I had an arm wrapped around Anoud's shoulder, and my eyes set on Maha's baby bump. She looked so happy, even though she got so big.

Turki: offh Maha! 7amil bBaby wla bElephant enti? Leeh samna kitha?
Maha: heyyy! Zwdt'ha ent w wjhik elyom.

Anoud laughed softly, and poked me in the ribs with her tiny fingers, I looked down at her.

Turki: what?
Anoud: gool sorry! 7ram e5tik looks adorable!

I suddenly couldn't focus on what Anoud was saying, I was staring at her face. Could it be possible that she gets prettier every time I look at her? Does it make sense to anyone else that my breath catches in my throat every time I see her? I don't know if it's bcuz I'm so in love with her or if it's bcuz she just that gorgeous. Can you even imagine how beautiful she would be if she got pregnant with my baby?

I suddenly got the urge to have a baby and get Anoud pregnant. The idea of us having a kid had been roaming through my mind for a while, and now seeing Maha makes me want it even more. I don't know if she'll be on board with it, but I want it so bad.

Anoud: Turki? Hello? Ween tn7t?
Maha: 5alih o5oy el3ashg elwlhan.

I removed my arm from Anoud's shoulder, and took her hand. I started pulling her out of my sister's house.

Maha: TURKI! Ween ray7?
Anoud: 7bebi? Ween jalsen nro7? Hello?

I stopped walking and Anoud ran into my back. I turned around and saw Anoud rubbing her nose.

Anoud: ouch! Wsh feek?
Maha: seriously! Esh jak fj2a?
Turki: ana w 3nod bnro7!
Anoud: weeen bnro7?! Mo 3la asas elyom bn6l3 m3 Maha w Faisal?!
Maha: you promised a day out Turki! I haven't seen my best friend in ages, and I finally got mama to watch Reemi. Please please?
Turki: sorry bes we're going home! I have a surprise planned.
Anoud: wsho ha4i elsurprise eli fj2a? W leeeeeh?
Turki: surprise mfro9' mnzman swenaha bes ma swenaha yet.
Maha: w esh hoo ya mjnon?
Faisal: al7in bgolk bswi baby.
Turki: yup.
Maha: aha btro7 elbeet tswi baby y3ny?

At that moment Reem came in with my mother and father.

Noura: men bysawy baby?
Maha: men y3ny ya mama? 3noud w Turki.

Reem ran over to me and pulled on my pants.

Reem: 5alo Turki how you make a baby?
Khalid: Reem 5ly 5alik w zojta yro7on bet'hm wrahm sh3'l.

Anoud turned a million shade of red and covered her face with her hands, while my family laughed. I laughed with them, and whispered in her ear.

Turki: I'm pretty sure the process will be so much fun.

I winked at her for even more emphasis.

Anoud's P.O.V:

I was sitting in the car, and I kept looking back at Turki while he drove. I couldn't believe it. We're finally together.

We went through so much crap to get to where we are today. El7amdelilah, rbi ytamem.

I thought back to the things we went through till we got to where we are today.

*Flashback*

I had called him more than 20 times that day and he still didn't answer. I was pretty sure I lost him forever.

So I'd had given up, and later that night I heard that he left to Germany again. I was in a bad state and no one could help me. I did it to myself, and I have to accept that.

A few weeks later, I was back to work. I'm emotionless, and numb. I've been a machine, just working.

So with time, I had slowly given up on our relationship. I was pretty much living void of any emotion or life, and that was working for me. Until the day I heard the news, Turki was very sick and he was admitted into the hospital.

I panicked when I heard the news. I felt the urge to see him asap. What happened suddenly? Why did he need to go the hospital? All these questions were running through my mind and I was going crazy with worry.

The next day I had enough courage to go see him in the hospital. I called Maha and asked her if there was anyone, she said that everyone left and she was alone.

I went into his hospital room, and my  body stopped working at that moment; starting from my heartbeat to my blood flow and breathing. It felt as if my world was being crushed at that moment.

Maha left us alone to give me my privacy, and I started talking to him. Even though, I didn't know if he was listening or not. He stayed for a few weeks at the hospital, and everyday I would go and stay by him until his family came then I would leave.

Week #1:

He looked as if he was sleeping peacefully. If anyone saw him they'd think he was just resting, no one would think that he had a heart surgery. Can he hear me? I don't know. Do I miss him? More than anything. What will I do when he wakes up? I don't know.

Week #2:

Anoud: Turki 7bebi Maha al7en is almost 16 weeks along, y3ny 4 sh'hor.

I smiled at that thought, she was already pregnant with her second baby when me and Turki didn't have our first yet. When will we have our kids? Will he even want me after he wakes up?

Anoud: agralk elsports news mn elnews papers? I know you must miss it. You missed a few games this week.

I opened the news paper to the sports section. Deep down I knew if anyone saw me they'd think I was crazy, but I didn't mind.

And so the weeks went along, until he finally woke up. When he did, I was so happy I couldn't stop crying. I had to leave him though because even though we share a love so deep, I am not his wife. I am no one to him.

Until the day came, where my my mom came in with her phone. And gave me another shock.

Aljohara: 3noud, ana mali d5l esh 9ar benk enti wyah bes mbyn ena elwld ybek.
Anoud: men?
Aljohara: Turki!
Anoud: tgdmli mra thanya?
Aljohara: ee! W e4a rf9'teh bhawshk! Ya mama enti t7bon b39' mafy sbab yb3dkm 3n b39' wallah!

*End of flashback*

A tear fell without me realizing it, and Turki looked at me.

Turki: 7abebti, are you okay?

I brushed off my tear, I hated that time of my life. I thought I lost him forever, and I don't want to remember that ever.

Anoud: I'm fine just remembering some bad stuff.
Turki: t7ben tnkden 3la nfsik ya 7bebti leh?
Anoud: tra ana a7bk.
Turki: w ana a7bk w atnfsk w a3sh8ik.

And they lived happily. I won't tell you how many kids they had, or anything else. They just lived happily. Their marriage had their ups and downs, but it worked out. They were in love, and that was all that mattered.

The end...
xo

I don't know if I'll write a story after this or not, but all I want to right now is to thank you guys for reading my blog. I had fun doing this, w if I don't write another one I'm surely going to miss it more than anything. I grew attached to the characters more than any of you. I will admit that I sometimes get more than frustrated because of the blog, and I just get even angrier whenever I see some people commenting in rude ways. But all I can say is thank you. I owe this blog so much and I can go on all day talking about it. I hope this will be a fitting ending for it.

Lots of love,
Hala.

Previously:

Anoud: I thought you said you were horrible with expressing emotions.
Turki: does that mean I get a second chance?
Anoud: what does a second chance mean?
Turki: shall we start all over?

I kept quiet for a long time and then I hung up.

~

I woke up the next morning with a huge smile painted on my face. Everytime I remember what Turki told me last night, my smile stretches wider. I barely got any sleep, but I'm high on excitement right now.

I tied my hair in a high ponytail, and wore my work clothes. I skipped down the stairs and I kissed my mom good morning.

Aljohara: wsh 3nda  el7lu mrwg elyom?
Anoud: lazm ya mama nrwg daym.
Aljohara: o7, wsh hlmzaj elraheb?
Anoud: sirrrrrr.
Aljohara: wallaaa amrk 3jeb!

~

I was working on a case when my phone rang it was Maha. Esh 3ndaha?

Maha: hello!
Anoud: hala?
Maha: sooo esh 3ndk?
Anoud: wla shy?
Maha: kwys! T3aleli after work. La tt25ren!

I was almost done with my work when my boss came in and I gave her smile.

Boss: hey, I have work for you.
Anoud: more work?
Boss: yeah, about 30 files.

My eyes went wide, more work? I'll be late and Maha will kill me. Yarabih.

File #1

I can do this it's easy.

File #7

My head is aching, I don't remember being a corporate lawyer being this hard. Numbers everywhere.

File #14

There's something wrong. Why aren't the numbers calculating?

File #28

Almost done. Maha will kill me I'm like 4 hours late.

File #30

Last one, finally.

~

I walked into Maha's house and I threw myself on the couch.

Anoud: MAHA! Weenk?

No response.

Anoud: hw Mahoy! Weenk ya bnt?

Still no response.

Anoud: tstahblen? Bro7  betna.

"I want to ask you to live life by my side. The best achievement of my life will be convincing you to be my wife. I want I need to be entirely mine. I am captured by your love, and I don't want to be rescued. If I was asked what a perfect life means I would say that it is one by your side. I get nervous when I see you; I get shivers when I hear your voice. Your presence tinkles my bones, and your eyes make me fall deeper in love with you every time. My heart grows restless for you, and only you. So, will you marry me?"

I was too shocked to speak. There was Turki on his knee and I was speechless. He proposed. To me. I felt tears well up in my eyes. My mixed emotions gave me millions of reasons why I should say yes and a million more on why I should say no.

Yes, because I'm in love with you.

No, because I don't deserve him.

Yes, because he's perfect.

No, because he should have better.

Yes, because he cares.

No, because I'm so so so so so stupid.

So I did what I know how to do best I ran away and left him.

I sat in Maha's garden and cried even more. If you asked me why I was crying, I wouldn't know how to answer because I seriously don't know why. Probably because of my mixed emotions? My stupid brain? I. Don't. Know.

Maha: what on earth was that?
Anoud: mdri.
Maha: wsho ely mdri?
Anoud: ma 2dri. Maha ma 2dri. I'm just confused, please. I just want to go home.
Maha: and do what? Cry some more? What more can the poor guy do?! 5la9! Stop being like this. God you guys love each other so much but you're too stubborn.
Anoud: please, Maha. I just want to go home.
Maha: go home and cry about your pathetic life some more. Gosh! Can you think?! Can you at least consider his f*cking feelings.

Turki's P.O.V:

I left Maha's house in a rush. Len meta bdos 3la kramti 3shanha? M95t elsalfa. W ana bes al7g wraha mthl elklb. G3dt asog bdon hdf for an hour. The hour became 2, and then the 2 became 4 until I found myself in front of her house. Why do I do this to myself?

I have to get over her. I can't keep doing this to myself, and to her.

Anoud's P.O.V:

God, why can't I stop crying? I'm such a baby. I should calm down and think. I need to think properly. Am I willing to say yes and just accept the fact that I can never be with anyone other than him? Or will I say no and realize that there's a big fat chance of him marrying someone else?

Am I willing to see him with another woman? Do I want another woman to wear his ring? Am I okay with visiting his future wife when she gives birth to his baby? I don't know. I'm so confused. Gosh, I have to think properly.

~

It's been a week since he proposed to me and I've been thinking non-stop about it. Did I do the right thing? Why can't I just yes? I'm so stupid! I should just say yes. I can't live without him. I can not

So I called him.

The phone rang and rang and rang.

Why isn't he picking up?

And then it stopped ringing.

He hung up on me. He is fed up with me

I lost the love of my life, forever.

Anoud: umm.. shofy hwa ena ana! Ana tgdmlii wa7d..
Maha: WHAT?

What I didn't know was that Maha was calling Turki and he heard everything I said.

Maha: dgega Turki akmlmk b3d shwy.

My eyes opened wide. God what will he say now? I didn't want him to hear that.

Maha: huh? Keef?
Anoud: 9aa7!! 7ta ana agol men ybi m6lga erta3t yom jani el5br.
Maha: 3nouda-
Anoud: la tgolen 3nouda.
Maha: leeh?
Anoud: Waleed kan ynadeni 3nouda.
Maha: oh.
Anoud: ee..
Maha: as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted.
Anoud: eee, esh tb3'en tgolen?
Maha: you're perfect. Any guy would be lucky to have you. You're beautiful, smart, and sweet. And I'm not just saying that because you're my bestfriend.

I laughed at Maha; she really was the perfect bestfriend.

Anoud: Maha, please.
Maha: they'll keep coming 3noudi.
Anoud: and I'll keep refusing.
Maha: why?
Anoud: because if I can't be his, then I won't be anyone else's.
Maha: you love him this much?
Anoud: more than you know.
Maha: you know you could've..
Anoud: adry ana swet'ha bNfsi.

We kept quiet for a while.

Anoud: oh w mahoy?
Maha: I won't tell Turki ena you're planning to refuse every guy who will propose to you.
Anoud: thank you!

~

I was woken up from my sleep by my phone ringing loudly. Why didn't I put it on silent? God it's so annoying. I answered it with my eyes half open.

Anoud: alo?

There was no answer. Hw, men ydg n9 elLeel wla yrd?

Anoud: alo? A7d m3i?

Still no answer. I took the phone off my ear and the screen was lit brightly, and I saw the number. It's an international number; a german number. My breath caught in my throat, is it him? Why isn't he answering then?

I kept quiet and listened to his breathing. What do I do? I should probably hang up. I couldn't bring myself to reply.

Anoud: I'll hang up.

Still no answer.

I hung up on him after a while of waiting. I wished to hear his voice, but I didn't. Something inside of me snapped, and I felt the urge to bring a paper and pen and start writing all that I feel and put them into words.

I hate how he pretends like I doesn't exist, and that makes wish I didn't. Does it bother him that we don't talk anymore? The salt in my wounds keeps burning me, and I keep feeling the pain. I'm scared of being hurt some more, and the blood in my veins is pumping as strong as ever. My insecurities are as shouting as loud as sirens through a silent night. A heart can't be broken if it stopped beating, and I wish mine stopped beating before it got broken. I didn't love him. I just didn't want to be alone. Or maybe just maybe he was good to my ego? I couldn't possibly love him because you don't destroy the person you love. I just crave a hug so tight from him that brings all my broken pieces together. I acted as if it all wasn't a big deal, but I was really just breaking my own heart.

Turki's P.O.V:

I sat on my apartment's couch, so that was it. A sign from god that I should move on, some guy proposed to her. I just want to be able to look at her and not feel so hurt by her. She doesn't know that in a crowded place, my eyes search for her and only her. I hate myself so much for still loving you more than myself. I'm so angry for myself for not letting you go. My nightmares are all about losing her, and that day my biggest nightmare came true. I lost her. I guess if I really do love her I should just let her move on, right? I can't. I tried so hard but I just can't. I should be over her, but I'm not. She haunts me every second, every minute, and every hour of every day. A person doesn't know what real suffering is until they've fallen in love with someone who doesn't share their feelings. A person doesn't know what real pain is until they come so close to getting what they've been wanting their whole lives and then just before their fingers are allowed to even brush against it; it evaporates into thin air. Doesn't she understand that I'm willing to kiss her scarred skin? Can't she understand that when she lets me in I won't destroy her?

I can't just let her go this easy; I have to get her back. How did I let us end up like this? She's worth fighting for I just didn't understand that until now, is it too late? So I did the craziest thing I've done in my life. I picked up my phone and dialled her number.

It rang.

And rang.

And rang.

Until she finally picked up.

Turki: I can't unlove you. I'm truly sorry, but I can't. Maybe you don't love me, and maybe you never did and never will, but I love you. No, I am in love with you. I love you and it's that simple. There isn't a switch for my feelings, and I can't just turn them off so  you can't expect me to just not love you because you think I deserve better. I don't want anyone else. I know this sounds so selfish and bitter of me, but I don't want a day to come where you smile, laugh, and be happy and I'm not the cause of that. It kills me to imagine you with someone else. I didn't only lose you when you walked out of this apartment I lost myself as well. Having a broken heart is so bad, it's like breaking your ribs. No one can ever see it, but the pain is there and it hurts every time you breathe. I don't want to take another breath where you're not mine. So like I said I am truly sorry but I'm in love with you.

I let out a huge breath after that long rant, and I waited for her reaction.

Anoud: I thought you said you were horrible with expressing emotions.
Turki: does that mean I get a second chance?
Anoud: what does a second chance mean?
Turki: shall we start all over?
