Previously:

Basma: ana a7bk ya 3bdul3ziz.

Aziz: j3l ma ygol esmi a7d b3dk!

~

I paced through my bedroom for what seemed like ages. All kinds of thoughts were going through my head on why didn't Abdulaziz call me yet! Is it possible that his mother didn't say yes? We've been stressing about my parents, that we forgot about his!

I picked up my phone, and called him. We're in 2010 for the love of god, those stupid beliefs don't have a place in the world we live in. I dialled the number that I memorised by heart since 2008. And it rang..

Basma: alo?

Aziz: 9otik yrd elro7, j3l ma anr7m mnah wla dgega.

I blushed. Too much romance doesn't mix well with me.

Basma: t3rf eni ma7b too much romance.

Aziz: 5laa9 as7b elmd7.

Basma: mo ts7bha 3ad!

Aziz: y3ny?

Basma: efff, mdri!

Aziz: entom ylbanat t9d3on elras.

Basma: mo moshkilatna! Leeh lsa ma dagat omik?

I smacked my palm on my mouth the minute the words left my mouth.

Basma: uhh.. 3ziz mo ga9di..

Aziz: Basma, ana glt elomi 3anik..

Basma: 6yb esh elmoshkila?

Aziz: mo ra9'ya tklm omik, tgol btrf9'onna...

My heart shattered to a million other pieces; I might've forgiven him too quickly but that's because I love him. He, simply, completes me. Now we might not get to have our happy ending.

Basma: bes lazm!

Aziz: adri ya glbi walla adri!

Basma: bklm mama!

Aziz: haa?

Basma: ana bklmha bgolha enik tbi t56bne bes omik mo mwafgah 3shan 5ayfa tnrf9'!

Aziz: NO!

Basma: hw 3ziz leeh? Ma tbena nn56b as soon as possible?

Aziz: mafy a7d fe ha4a elkoon kla ybek t9eren ly akthr mni, bes I want to do it the right way, w e4a omi lsa mo9era ma tro7, bji bnfsi.

I let out a huge sigh, but nodded anyway.

Basma: eli tshofa.

Aziz: yalla 7bebti lazm a9k l2n atw83 elshr6i byji y36eni mo5alafa.

Basma: wtf!  La tgoli jals tklmni w ent tsog!

I was screaming through the phone.

Basma: yawelk mni!

I let out a sigh, and disconnected the call.

~

Meanwhile with Alia:

I paced back in forth in Abdulaziz's room. Where on earth is he?

Alia: MAMA! MAAMAAAA!

Mom: n3m! N3mmmm!

She walked into Abdulaziz's room with a  confused look on her face, and when she saw that I was fine she sat on his couch, crossed her arms, and gave me a look.

Alia: ween 3ziz?

Mom: 6l3!

Alia: mn ams?

Mom: ma rj3?!

Alia: no!

Mom: ajl kan 9adg bli galh..

Mom: 6yyb 6yyyyb! Waaaayyyy ya kthr grgk! Jbetli 9oda3.

Alia: shokraaan shokraaan shokraaaan!

I jumped up and down, more hyper than a kid who ate a box of chocolates. Before I called Abdulaziz, I gave my mom a quick kiss on her forehead.

Alia: allah y5lek lna wla y7rmna mnk ya a7la om bldenya!

Mom: allah ys3dkom klkom ya ro7 omkom.

I called Abdulaziz, and the phone rang for ages. After the 18th call I decided to just text him, "mama galt enha btklm om Basma! Come back home."

Back to Basma:

It's been hours since I called Abdulaziz, he hasn't said a word, and I'm getting nervous. Shall I talk to my mother? Or not yet? Before I could go too far with my thoughts I got a text from him with only 3 words: "She said yes." I didn't want to know how or why, but she said yes, so now step two which is: talk to my mother.

I exhaled the deep breath I inhaled, and took slow steps to the glass room where my mother is probably sitting.

I knocked the door, and stood waiting for her to answer.

Mom: meeen?

Basma: ana Basma..

Mom: Basma? Jalsa t6gen elbab? Ed5li ed5li..

I went in and gave my mother w scared smile. I sat next to her, and she looked at me from the corner of her eyes.

Mom: wsh 3ndk?

Basma: mama, bgolik shy, don't overreact. E9bri len a5l9..

Mom: 5eer allahoma ej3lh 5eer. Wsh b3'eti?

Basma: 3z-3bdul3ziz kklmni.

Mom: n3m? B3d ma ra7 w trkk m3lga?

Basma: mama, relax. As I was saying, 3bdul3ziz klmni w gali ena ybi y56bni.

Mom: 6yb ha4a shy zeen..

Basma: bes omah kant m3ya.

Mom: lesh?

Basma: bes r9't tji, w r9't tklmk, bes bagi enti tgolen eloboy.

Mom: 5la9 bgola, bes ma aw3dk bshay..

Basma: thank you thank you thank you!

I jumped off the couch, and kissed her forehead.

Basma: allah la y7rmni mnk abdn!

~

A day later, my name was shouted through the house by my father. Mama told him, and that almost had me hyperventilating. I knocked on his office's door, and waited for a response.

Dad: ed5li.

Basma: elsalamo 3lykom yuba.

Dad: w 3laykom elsalam 7bebti.

Basma: b3'et shy yoba?

Dad: ee, ejlsi.

Dad: kobrik ana astahbl? Walla.

Basma: thank you thank you! A7bk, allah la y7rmni mnk w y6wl b3omrik!

My happiness could not be measured, nor described with words.

~

I exhaled and inhaled as fast as I could. I don't know why I'm so nervous. It's the day we've been waiting for, the day where to the world I'd be officially his and he'd be mine

When will you be mine?: Chapter17

I was late with this chapter, but I have my reasons, so please do forgive me.

M&A, thank you for being my inspiration.

Previously:

I ran my fingers through my hair for what might probably be the hundredth time. I have never been so nervous in my life for anything. It feels like the first time all over again, only now it's a hundred times worse because every time I push my hair back I feel the bald spot where they had to shave off some hair to do the operation. To say that this was my biggest insecurity was putting it to a minimum. I haven't seen the guy properly in a year, and this day could make or break our relationship. So I took a deep breath and went into Dr.Cafe.

I walked to the table in the far corner, our table. And sat. We stood staring at each other for what felt like hours but in reality it was mere minutes.

Aziz: Basma, wsh rayik nro7 ntklm somwhere more private?

My insides were screaming; yes! But the more logical part of me was saying that if I go with him, there's no going back.

Basma: 3z-3bdul3ziz..

Aziz: n7taj ntklm, l7alna.

I sighed, but nodded anyway.

~

I sat down at the couch, and crossed my arms waiting for Aziz to start talking.

Aziz: sooo...

Basma: soo?

Aziz: Basma, mdri ween abda..

Basma: ebda mn elbedaya! 3ziz enta trktni, 5letni m3lga for a whole year! T7sbha kant sahla 3ly? You broke me.

Aziz: I would break myself to fix you.

#Flashback (from Abdulaziz's POV):

I dropped the last card, and won the game.

Aziz: haa? Abo Khalid ma ts7b 3la el3azema zy daymn!

Aziz laughed sarcastically, but something deep inside of him was starting to ache.

Zaid: walla mo bydi hlklam, lw 3ly zwjtik e5ti elyom gbl bokra bes 9'roof elmojtm3 t7id.

#End of Flashback.

Aziz: w b3d ki4a glt dam mar7 yzwjoniyak leeh a3lgik m3i? Leeh ama6el fe shy ymkn malh nehaya tr9'ena?

I was shell-shocked to say the least.

Basma: bes 3ziz ana-

Aziz: Basma, esm3eni-

Basma: no 3bdul3ziz! You chose to leave me. 3shan something my brother said? You didn't even bother to tell me why! Abs6 7gogi eni a3rf leeh r7t w trktni! You didn't even fight for me

Aziz: Basma, I know that even if I give you the world it still wouldn't be enough.

Basma:  3ziz ent even if you give me the world, it would never come close to covering rob3 the pain I felt during that year.

Aziz: I know that you deserve more than the world. You deserve the universe, and I'm just a star. Rj3t l2ni 3rft ena 7yaty ma tswa wla tgdr tkml bdonk! I will fight for you, wla ra7 a5li a7d ymn3ni mnk. Lw ma knt lk ya Basma mabi a9er la7d..

My eyes teared up at what he said. I'm in too deep, and there's no way I can come out. I went back to reality when I felt his thumb brush off the tears.

Aziz: ana a7bk w mabe 3'erk.

Basma: 6yb ngol it all worked out w gdrt t56bni, b3den esh? Btrj3 w ttrk Australia?

Aziz: la 6b3n, bl9eef nswi 3rs w trj3en m3i Australia w nkml 7yatna?

Basma: 3ziz ent tdri eni abek bes ma y7glk trj3 mn Australia w t8rer m9eri! I was heartbroken, and miserable for more than a year! I grew in ways you can not even imagine. I will not leave everything I know, love, and want just because you decided that you want me back after a year of disappearance.

Aziz: bes Basma ana a7bk 3shan ki4a swet ki4a!

Basma: ent ma shawrtni, I hate you.

And I ran off to a room, and cried myself till I unconciously fell asleep. I woke up to a feeling that someone is watching me. It was Aziz. So I stretched like a cat, and scrunched my nose at the terrible smell. What on earth was that? It suddenly dawned on me, smoke.

Basma: 3ziz ent td5n?

#Flashback:

Aziz: aw3dk, klshy wla tz3leen!

#End of Flashback.

Aziz: bdon ma tgolen I'm working on quitting.

My eyes teared up again, why do I always do this?

Basma: you promised!

Aziz: it was a moment of weakness, amot wla afkr amsk cigarette mra thanya!

I nodded my head tiredly.

Aziz: 6b momkin tnzlen t7t? 3ndelik mofaja2a!

I smiled excitedly.

Basma: shnu?

Aziz: ma t9er mofaj2a lw gltlk, gomi yalla!

I was about to run down the stairs, but then he covered my eyes with his hands.

Aziz: km mra agolk el9br zen ya bnt el7lal?

Basma: 3ziz tra lw 67t w ksrt rjli mar7 asam7k!

Aziz: adri!

Finally, we reached to the bottom of the stairs and my nostrils lead me to kitchen. Aziz removed his hands, to show a perfectly prepared breakfast. I gasped, it was all too perfect with a bread basket, eggs, pancakes, and waffles.

Basma: it's perfect. Men sawah?

Aziz: ana!

Basma: ma9dg m3lesh!

Aziz: walla ana, tra australia 3lmtni ashya2 ktheeeer!

Basma: wallaa? Esh 3lmtik 3'eer el6b5?

Aziz: magdr a9er romancy m3k enti?

Basma: magdr a8dr elromanciya m3 elasf!

He laughed and shook his head. We sat down on the table, and started catching up about everything. I told him about Zaid and Lama, while he told me about Australia. We talked about my university life and that's when I remembered.

Basma: sh*t! km elsa3a?

Aziz: elsa3a 12:30!

Basma: ra7 3ly elclass! Yarabeh!

Aziz: tben awdek eljam3a?

Aziz: galt abd ent e5tar w ana bro7 a7aki omha, bes bagi agolha ena enti!

A warm feeling spread through me, and I felt a comfort I haven't felt in ages. The comfort of knowing I'm going to be his.

~

I went into the house, and threw myself on the bed, almost immediately I went into a deep slumber.

Meanwhile with Abdulaziz:

I kissed my mother's forehead, and hand the minute I went into the house.

Mom: allah allah! Kl ha4a 3shan elzwaj! Meen sa3edat el7a9'!

Aziz: w7da 5a4at 3gli w ro7i w galbi!

Aziz: ajl ana bro7 atrk elbeet len enti w oboy tfkron mra thanya b4al8rar.

I took my gym bag, and went into the car.

Back to Basma.

I snuggled into my bed, and held the phone in front of me and looked at the screen. Waiting for him to call; when my eyelids dropped my phone rang and I answered.

Aziz: glbi..

Basma: hala!

Aziz: 7yati..

I'm so very late with this chapter, but what happened happened. There are 3 more chapters after this and then I'm done. Wow. Ya sr3 eldnya, it feels like just yesterday I started it. Elmohim b5li elrant elb3den when I'm done with the story and here you go!

Before he could say anything else, my room's door opened.

In that exact second I felt my heart drop to the deepest part of the earth. I looked up and let out the hugest breath when I saw that it was only a nurse.

Nurse: Hi Miss Alx. It's time for your IV drip change, and I need a few blood tests.

Basma: I'm s0-

I wanted to ask her to come back later but Aziz interrupted me and told her to go about and do her job. She changed the IV bag all while we were very quiet. Her coming in did some good to me as well, she gave me time to think about all the things he said.

Nurse: Miss Alx, can you please give me your other arm?

Basma: why?

Nurse: I need to take a few blood samples for tests.

Basma: can't you use the same injection as the IV?

Nurse: no.

As if he was reading my mind, Abdulaziz  interlaced our fingers together, and gave me a light smile while squeezing my hand. Immediately, every doubt and worry I had vanished. No matter how much I deny it, this guy managed to sneakily crawl into my heart again.

After the nurse took out the needle, I looked back at Aziz.

Basma: e7m..

He looked up at me and gave me a half smile with a hopeful look.

Basma: lazm tro7 3ziz..

I looked away because I knew if I looked at him, I'd probably never ask him to leave.

Aziz: Basma, Basmat 7yaty..

My eyes welled up with tears. Yashena leeh y7b ysawi feni ki4a!

Basma: 3ziz lw sm7t i7na mo fe america! Traha els3odiya ha4i! W e4a jat e5ti al7en wla 7ta tgdr t7lm tshofni mra thanya.

Aziz: bro7 al7in bes tra lazm aklmk.. Lazm agol eli 3ndi lw sm7ti, ana a7bk w mani mst3d atrkek mra thanya wla a5lek t9'e3en mni.

And that was the last I heard of him for the next week. I kept unlocking my phone's screen, and locking it. Waiting for a notifacation to appear. Waiting to hear my ringtone. Waiting for at least the ding that signals a text, but nothing.

I went on like this for a few days, and one day while I was pacing through my room. My bedroom door opened and my two favourite people in the world came through the door. I smiled even though every emotion that went on inside me wanted me to do anything but.

Alia: heyyy babe!

Lama: you're skinny! 5eer!

Alia elbowed her, and gave her a shocked look.

Lama: wsho! Mnjdi! Ma y9er ki4a t9'len tn7fen! All the good stuff are disappearing.

I raised one eyebrow in question, only Lama can give you a compliment bes tsbik bnfs elwgt.

Basma: ma 3lena! Jbto shy zeen?

Lama: duh! Tbena nji mndon mofri7at mthln?

Alia: jbnaaa ice cream w Reeses w klshy. Here shofi esh fe jwa elkeesa!

A couple of hours later, we were sitting on the ground in the living room connected to my bedroom and we were busy eating. I don't know what came over me when I said what I said next but I had to let it out.

Basma: 3lia, ween 3ziz?

The minute his name left my lips, Alia choked on her fries.

Basma: bismellah 3lek, 9i7a..

Lama patted her on the back for emphasis.

Basma: hw, wsh jak shrgti the minute I said his name?

Alia: huh? Laa wla shy!

Basma: so weena?

Alia: blbeet?

She looked a bit hesitant about her answer, but I said it's most probably due to confusion. I let out a huge sigh, and unknowingly thought out loud:

Basma: 6b leeeeeh ma klmni yet!

I wanted to cry, but that moment of sadness was replaced with shock the minute I felt a Macdonald's golden french fry hit my face. My jaw fell and I looked at Lama with a what-the-hell look!

Lama: enti daymn tgolenli ethgli! Dori ana agolk!

She looked smug.

Basma: bes that doesn't mean you get the right to throw a perfectly good french fry in my face.

Them coming over made me forget about Abdulaziz for the remainder of the day. The minute they left; all the reasons about him not calling yet came through my mind.Until that one night I got a call from a number I memorised by heart. I let it ring for a few minutes, I was more nervous than anything.

What would I say to him? How would I reply to anything he says? I can not show him that I already forgave him. I can not let him know that I still love him. I have to let him know that I am broken.

Meanwhile with Abdulaziz:

Basma's image in the hospital was embedded in my mind. Whenever I closed my eyes all I could see was her face, all I could hear was her voice, and all I could smell was her smell. I'm crazy for ever believing that I could live without her. How did I even allow myself to leave her? She is without doubt my universe.

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts, so naturally I yelled 'ed5il!'

Alia came into the room, and gave me a smile I knew so well by now.

Aziz: enti ma tbtsmen ha4i elebtesama ela lw kan elmw9'o3 feh Basma, aw mswya mo9eba w tben a9l7ha!

Alia laughed at my response.

Alia: la la la t5af ma swet mo9eba.

Aziz: ajl elmw9'o3 feh Basma.

Alia sighed heavily, and I automatically felt guilty. I know that this situation affects their friendship, but I need time.

Alia: 3ziz meta nawy toglha 3n eli jals tsweh?

Aziz: walla awl ma atjra2 aklmha I will.

Alia: well it better happen soon l2n elbnt m7a tkon mwjoda llabd.

She slapped the back of my shaved head, and I nodded lightly. I know enha m7a tg3d but every time I remember what her brother told me... I shook my head to clear my thoughts. I'll call her, I have to see her, I have to hear her voice she makes everything better.

Back to Basma:

So, I answered.

Basma: alo..

Aziz: lw e4ni ma tsm3 ela 9otik 6ol 3omri, ra9'i.

I blushed from the roots of my hair to the tips of my toes.

Basma: 5eer 3ziz!

I had no way of responding other than pretending that I didn't want to hear that.

Aziz: e7lfi enik ma ebtsmti w ma3d a3edha!

Basma: ent dag 3shan nl3b?

He laughed knowingly, I swear if he knows that I'm still in love with him ymkn ant7r.

Aziz: abi ashofik! Meta 3ndik off mn eljm3a?

I hesitated before answering, I wasn't sure I was ready to see him just yet, but my tongue had other ideas as it answered for me.

Basma: ok, bokra my class starts at 12:30PM ymdeni agablk 3la 8- amz7 ma t7b tgom bdri..

Aziz: laa laa thmnya kwys!

I regretted saying that the minute I said it, it was only more proof for him that I still care

Basma: ok ween?

Aziz: Dr.Cafe eli awl.

I am so not ready for sitting with him alone.

~

I ran my fingers through my hair for what might probably be the hundredth time. I have never been so nervous in my life for anything. It feels like the first time all over again, only now it's a hundred times worse because every time I push my hair back I feel the bald spot where they had to shave off some hair to do the operation. To say that this was my biggest insecurity was putting it to a minimum. I haven't seen the guy properly in a year, and this day could make or break our relationship. So I took a deep breath and went into Dr.Cafe.

When will you be mine?: Chapter15

I'm a little late with this chapter because it needed some last minute editing!

Sorry!

Enjoy ❥

Previously:

He looked up at the rear view mirror and wiggled his eyebrows. So I did what any sister would do, I  stuck out my tongue and pretended to vomit.

Lama: moflima.

Basma: actually mn kthr ma enna a7la thnten bl3rs omhat Alflani w Alflani s2lona e7na bnat meen!

The minute I said that, the car crashed and everything was black.

I woke up with a terrible headache. What the hell? Where the hell am I? God, my head is pounding.

All I could feel was that there was pressure on my abdomen, and my neck was killing me. I turned to my right using my back, because I felt that if I moved my neck I'd die.

And I saw that Zaid had his head on the stirring wheel, and his arm was the source of the pressure I felt on my abdomen. I looked down at his arm, and winced at the pain the sudden movement made me feel.

I was in haze, but the minute I saw Zaid's bloodied arm I felt like I suddenly went into alarm mode. I nudged him with my finger, but he didn't move. I remembered that Lama is with us in the car, and my panic multiplied by 100.

Basma: Lama! LAMA!

She moaned in pain as a response, and my heart's running-a-marathon speed slowed down to jogging.

Basma: fek shy? T3wrti?

There were a few minutes of quiet before she answered.

Lama: yarabeh!

Basma: wsh fek?

Lama: those were brand new Loubtain-s!

I wanted to slap her for thinking of that right now.

Basma: yazg rw3teni.

Lama: I'm ok, bes atw83 I have a few scratches and bruises bes.

Basma: phew, el7amdelilah.

Lama: Zaid? ZAID? ZAID! Basma, Zaid leeh mo jals yrd? Basma!

I kept quiet while she desperately tried to crawl out of her seat in the car to see him.

Lama: Basma!

Basma: it's ok, o3'ma 3leh bes. He'll be fine habebi, don't worry.

She started murmuring prayers while tears fell from her eyes. And I felt like the darkness which was so inviting pulling me harder to it, and I fell into a deep slumber...

-

I woke up to my sisters' laughs and bright white lights, and an acid smell of the hospital.

I let out a moan instead of saying 'why the hell I'm here?' I opened my eyes, and the events that happened came back to me.

Basma: Zaid!

I tried to sit up but that made my headache triple so I laid back down. My mother and sisters rushed to my side, and fussed over me.

Basma: Mama, ween Zaid?

Mom: la t5afen ya mama Zaid mafeh ela el3afya.

Basma: a777 rasi, km 9arli blmstashfa?

Mom: ma kmlti lela kamla.

Basma: Zaid 9a7i?

Mom: ya glbi ya mama, Zaid rasa mafeh shy bes yda.

I rubbed my forehead, god this headache is terrible.

Basma: w ana wsh feni?

Mom: jak ertejaj bes 5fef enshallah.

Basma: LAMA!

Mom: 7ta hiya el7amdelilah salema mafeha ela a few cuts and bruises.

Basma: akeed Zaid ma jah shy?

Mom: d5l gzaz byda w ygolon they'll try to remove as much as they can bes...

Basma: bes eish?

Mom: bes y5afon ena w7da mn elgzazat d5lt 3nd ela39ab.

Basma: eish m3nat hlklam?

My heart went into overdrive, if anything happened to Zaid I'll never forgive myself.

Mom: mar7 ykon feh ela el3afya.

Basma: w Lama wenha?

Mom: kant hena bes kant t3bana fa jw ahlha a54oha llbet 3shan trta7 m3 enha kant tbi tnt9'rik t97en.

Basma: aked mafeha shy?

Mom: mama 7abebti, stop worrying about others w enti elmskena!

My mother murmured some prayers when she put her hand over my  forehead. I closed my eyes and relaxed under my mother's touch, but I couldn't really relax much while my sisters were whispering like buzzing bees in the corner of my room. Mom gave me a light kiss over my aching forehead, and wiped my non-existent tears. So I wiped the tears rolling on her cheeks, and kissed her hand.

Basma: mama, I'm okay walla.

Mom: 6yb ya mama ana bro7 ashof Zaid w at6mn 3leh, 5watik 3ndik lw b3'eti shy.

Basma: enshallah ya glbi.

The minute my mother left the room, and the door shut behind her my sisters stood next to me on the bed.

Sara: e3trfi!

Basma: haa?

Farah: Sara ma tswa 5la9 elbnt twha 9a3gah ras'ha.

So me and my sisters are really close but because Sara is the eldest and has been married since I was 14 she was always busier than Farah who was closer to me in age.

Sara: agol o9! Aked enti t3rfen elsalfa!

Basma: t3rf eish? I'm lost!

Sara: men 3ziz?

My heart dropped to the lowest level the parking of the hospital had. How on earth did she find out?

Basma: meen 3ziz?

Sara: Bee! La tst'hblen 3ly! Ma knt abi agol shy gdam Mama bes e3trfi yalla!

Basma: how did you find out?

I gave Farah a mean glare, and she put up her arms in surrender.

Farah: walla ma glt lha shy!

Basma: 6yb wsh draha?

Sara: kl eli flmstashfa dro!

Basma: hw?

Sara: d5lok w enti bes tgolen 3ziz! Zaid! 3ziz! Zaid! O5ok w fhmna t'hojsen feh, 3ziz meeeeeeen?

My sister's level of patience was -100.

Basma: ensan.

Sara: e7lfi ya she5a! A7sba jni!

Basma: yoh! Mafi 9br Saroh!

Sara: tklmi tklmi!

Basma: wa7d knt a7ba w aklma w bes.

Sara: knti? Leeh wsh 9ar? La ykon elklb hwa elsbab enk fj2a 9rti hadya w mn3zla w 6afyah?

Farah: ee!

Basma: hwa mo klb!

Farah and I spoke at the same time, and I wanted to bury my head in the pillow if it didn't hurt so much. My eyes welled up at the mention of him, and because I remembered what happened when I first saw him after a year of disappearance. He changed, so much. He grew older, the wrinkles he had from smiling turned to frown lines. His bright eyes, became dull. It was as if he was lifeless, I laughed at the irony. He sucked the life out of me so he should be full of it but instead he looked as drained as I am.

Sara: alo? Basoma? Ween e5tfeti?

Basma: ha? La tn7t.

She sat next to me on the bed, and circled my shoulders with her arms. Sara was always the reassuring sister, she's the eldest so automatically she became the second mother.

Sara: m3 eno ma wdi agolk, bes lazm.

Basma: eish eli ma wdk tgolena?

Sara: 3bdul3ziz kan hena 6ol elLeel.

I was shell-shocked. What? He was here the whole day!

Basma: waiit, dgega wsh drak?

Sara gave me a sneaky smile.

Sara: 7bebik ha4a mo sahel, 6l3 9deg Zaid! W y3rf omi b3d!

I blushed at the mention of that, now Mama thinks that we're still together.

Basma: yoh! Al7in mama bt7sb enna lsa m3 b39'.

Sara: mama t3rf?!

Basma: ee?

Sara: allah yldnya! Walla lw ana wla enti Faro7a kan m3lgen blFai9aliya!

Farah: shfti shlon!

Basma: ya jma3a lazm aro7 ashof Zaid.

Farah: mjnona enti ma  ynf3 tt7rken mn elsrer!

Basma: yooh! Lw sm7to!

I kept nagging for at least an hour and a half but they managed to ignore me, and quiet successfully if I may add. After a while, I gave up and shut up as my mom went into the room. She looked exhausted.

Basma: mama, erj3y elbet! Shklk mra t3bana.

Mom: ee walla ya mama, feni erha8!

Basma: 5la9 mama erj3i elbet w nami.

Mom: w atrkek l7alk?

Mom: you're my baby.

She kissed my forehead and smiled.

Farah: mama, ana anam 3ndha Mo3a4 msafr w Amal btnam 3ndkom.

Sara: ajl ana I'm heading home, I need to sleep.

She yawned and rested her hand on her stomach. I gave her a look that said 'are you hiding something?' And she pretend not to notice.

Farah: 5la9 ajl mama brj3 m3k ajeb a3'ra9'i w arj3!

Mom nodded even though she worried about leaving me.

Basma: mama mar7 y9er feni shy! Klha sa3a w no9 w Fara7 trj3!

Mom: 6yb!

~

While trying really hard to sleep because I had nothing else to do. Apperantly my mother thinks that using my phone will damage my brain but watching TV won't, I know. I heard my door click open, I cracked one eyelid open expecting to see a nurse except I saw Aziz.

I opened my mouth to prevent you from stepping any closer, but you held up one finger before I could say or do anything.

Aziz: dgega w7da bes! Lw sm7te! Abos rjolik bes 36eni dgega agolk feha eli 3ndi w amshi!

I couldn't say no to him pleading me like that, my heart went out to him before my brain could even think about what to say. I missed him more than words expressed, so I nodded my approval on him coming in. He pulled the squeaky metallic chair near my bed, and sat on it. He reached out to hold my hand but stopped himself and then his hand hung in the air awkwardly. Finally, he decided to hold my hand.

As he traced his finger along my very prominent veins and around the IV, I looked at him waiting for him to talk. He looked up at me, and we didn't utter a syllable. Our tongues said nothing but our silence spoke volumes.

Aziz: ma ab3'a fe 7yati a7s ble7sas eli 7set feh elyom.

He started talking and went back to running his finger along my right hand where he occasionally stopped to play with the finger he gave me.

Basma: ay e7sas?

Aziz: e7sas eni 5srtik llabd.

Basma: 3ziz enta-

Aziz: adri, bes 36eni wgt shwy agol eli 3ndi w e4a ma 3jbk b6l3.

I nodded because I was worried that if I spoke my voice would crack.

Aziz: elyom 7set ena eldnya klha ma tswa w eno el7yat 6l3t mn jsmi. Before he could say anything else, my room's door opened.
